God Is Calling You

“From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”

 Acts 17:26-27.

I can remember when I was really young I told my parents that I was going to wait until I was married before having sex.

I remember smoking weed a bunch of times in elementary school and by age 12 resolving that I was not into it anymore and that it was not for me. I remember thinking that as an athlete, “I need to be as sharp as I can be...”

I remember compromising on the “code” that I lived my life by: “No smoking any weed while I am in a training season.”

I then remember resolving, “Ok, I just can't smoke that much while I am training.”

I remember resolving that I would never touch cocaine, because it destroys the people who love it.

I remember a rule that I made for myself that I wouldn't do any drug that I didn't know where it came from (the source and what's in it).

The list for me goes on and on, as I'm sure it does for you as well. I'm sure that there are compromises that you made in your life. Maybe not with drugs, but with other examples.

How far will you allow yourself to go? How many compromises? How many promises will you break before you acknowledge that you are not in control and that God is calling you?

God was showing me all along that my little “codes” were nonsense and useless.

God is calling you. Will you answer?
