Are You A Pocket He-Man?
Are You A Pocket He-Man?
The phrase "Pocket He-Man" is used periodically in my house. It is a phrase that I made up to describe someone who is all big and bad behind closed doors, but in person is quiet, timid or afraid. A Pocket He-Man is someone who doesn't say what they could say.
The bible is always telling us to say what we see (1 Timothy 4:6); speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15); share your faith (Philemon :6); spend it (Proverbs 4:7); risk it; go for it; don't hold back; don't save it.
Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.” Luke 9:24-26.
Some have things to say or share or give or tell out, but resolve to be like an action figure that is buried deep within your pocket that you will not dare let out. Pocket He-Men are cowards. They think, “I can't say that because it will be too much, too hard, too difficult, too hurtful, too exposing, so I can't say it.”
Call it out if you see it, “Pocket He-Man.”
Pocket He-Men try to save things, so they end up losing it. Pocket He-Men need to consider theLuke 9:24-26 verses above.
This is a ministry where we can risk it all.
